As a lot of devices are capable of sending data without the intervention of humans, the needs to integrate the collected data are enormous. With Alexander Gillis (2021), we will define Internet of Things as physical objects (or groups of such objects), that are embedded with sensors, processing ability, software, and other technologies, and that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet or other communications networks.

Protocols to permit data exchanges are important.

We can identify three layers :

1. Perception : physical layer - the sensor

2. Network : getting data from the perception layer and transmitting it to the application layer

3. Application : delivering services to the user usualy through Internet protocols

We advise you on how sensors can be integrated to your product.
